2022 Homestead Red
Tasting notes
This blend of Italian varietals and Cabernet Sauvignon brings together the Italian heritage of the Rava family with the roots of Paso Robles. This reserve wine has rich aromas of black cherry with hints of tobacco and leather. Notes of blackberry jam and cinnamon toast on the palate are introduced with the chalky tannins at the finish.
Production notes
To achieve maximum flavor and color extraction, the grapes were punched down in bins three times daily. When the fermentation reached dryness, the wine was pressed and transferred to French oak barrels where it aged for 36 months.
Other notes
The high acidity in the wine matches the natural acid in tomatoes, which makes a perfect pair for Italian food: Margherita pizza, spaghetti pomodoro, Osso buco, beef ragù, and lasagna.

Located on the Rava Estate adjacent to the winery, Los Robles Vineyard is positioned within the El Pomar District, one of eleven sub appellations in the Paso Robles AVA. The vineyard features warm daytime temperatures and cool marine breezes late in the day that flow through the Templeton Gap. The soils are a mix of loam, clay and limestone, providing excellent drainage and ideal conditions for growing Italian varietals.
